Occutrauma is an intensive outpatient program serving the First Responder community, professionals and the general public who have experienced Traumatic Psychological Injuries, including Occupational Stress Injury, Acute Stress, PTSD and trauma-related comorbidities.  

This specialized service focuses on delivering evidence-based best practices shown to provide the greatest improvements and best outcomes for our client members.

The acceptance and recognition of the value of our programs have placed an increased need for Occutrauma to seek additional Registered Occupational Therapists to join our clinical team.

Acting within a multidisciplinary team your expertise, training and unique skillset will be invaluable to supporting our client members recovering from occupational stress and their related conditions. 

Our clinics operate Monday through Friday from 08:30H to 16:30H and we have opportunities for full-time and part-time roles within our service offerings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinated multidisciplinary treatment planning
  • OSI / PTSD and Trauma-related disorders screening, assessment, and treatment
  • Case management and report writing
  • Return to Work services
  • Functional Capacity Evaluations
  • Functional Optimization and Reactivation strategies
  • Prolonged Exposure therapy; Training provided

Education/Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Current registration and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)

Beneficial:

  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy; training can be provided
  • Exercise Therapy experience
  • Trauma or Mental Health experience
  • Experience with Return-to-Work services
  • Previous experience delivering treatment for Traumatic Psychological Injury
  • Previous experience delivering treatment to Uniformed Personnel or First Responders
  • Previous experience working in a Uniformed Personnel or First Responder role
  • Exercise therapy
  • Advanced skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
