Occutrauma's 90-Day Intensive Group Program

Our 90-Day Intensive Outpatient Group Program is our flagship program and specifically designed for Uniformed Personnel and First Responders with complex Occupational Stress Injuries. It encompasses education, normalization, coping skills, emotional-impact processing, and improving functional recovery for individuals who are struggling with the emotional and psychological impact of an Occupational Stress Injury.

Unlike other group programs, ours are “profession-specific.” This means that Military will only have other Military members in their group and the same for Police, Fire, Paramedic, etc.. This is termed “Cultural Competence” and is important because of the unique differences between each service.

For the duration of the 90 days, members will receive:

  • Stabilization, Integration, and Maintenance
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychological Services
  • Following completion of the 90 Day Program, members will participate in the clinician facilitated Peer Support program
  • Additional required services will be determined based on specific member circumstances

The Occutrauma program is administered by world-class professionals and integrates several modalities and best practice approaches.

These include:

  • Judith Herman’s Tri-Phasic model for Trauma Recovery
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (Infused)
  • Exposure Therapy
  • Prolonged Exposure
  • Cognitive Processing therapies
  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapies
  • Comprehensive Resource Model

These therapies may be included as First Line, Second Line or adjunct therapies as required through assessment and treatment planning. Some of these therapies are only provided individually and not in a group format.

Please contact us if you are member, friend or family member of one of these services for further information.
